Leadership at Northside
The staff at Northside all work full-time jobs outside of the church. In addition, the church is led by a group of elders with the Lead Pastor being part of the Elder Team. We see this model of leadership as a biblical approach to ministry as we're able to utilize our gifts for specific ministries while not being a financial obligation to the church body. This model allows for more resources to be devoted to ministries both locally and globally.
Elders are called by the Holy Spirit and are affirmed by the people. Together with the Lead Pastor, they exercise leadership, government, and discipline and have responsibilities for Northside’s life, as well as the Church at large. Elders should be persons of faith, dedication, and good judgment. Their manner of life should be a demonstration of the Christian gospel, both within the church and in the world. The Elders can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Being elected as Deacon is an honor and privilege, but not without responsibilities to God and His church. It is an opportunity to serve God and His people in a special way. “Diakoneo”, “diakonia” and “diakanos” are found multiple times in the original language of the New Testament. All are various forms of the word “Deacon”. The definitions vary, but all have the same underlying meaning – SERVANTHOOD. The primary role of Deacons at Northside Community Church is a ministry of service through the use of their spiritual gifts. The Deacons can be reached at email@example.com.
