Guest Services Team

At Northside, the mission of our Guest Services Team is to open the door for the Gospel. There are several different roles on the team. Our volunteers typically serve one Sunday per month either at the 9:00 or 10:45 a.m. service. Time commitment is from 15 minutes prior to service until 15 minutes after service starts—with the exception of coffee bar volunteers, who arrive 30 minutes before and stay 15 minutes after, and the usher who serves from inside the sanctuary for the entire duration of the service.

"Since God chose you to be holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, gentleness, and patience" (Colossians 3:12). 

Volunteer Roles:

  • Parking Attendant: Serves as a friendly and assuring face in the parking lot on either north or south side as they greet guests upon arrival and aid in locating a parking spot when necessary.
  • Door Greeter: Sets the tone for welcoming guests to Northside by holding the door and warmly welcoming everyone as they arrive. If guests are visiting for the first time, door greeters give them a welcome bag from the welcome counter.
  • Coffee Bar Attendant: Stationed at our coffee bar, this role serves coffee, tea, and hot chocolate to our guests. No making of coffee or setup necessary—simply pour and serve. This volunteer does assist in clean-up after the service.
  • Connections Lobby Greeter: Stationed outside the sanctuary, this greeter welcomes guests as they enter and hands them a bulletin. Once the service has started, this volunteer assists the usher in seating guests.
  • Usher: Ensures that sanctuary seating is optimized. The usher remains in the sanctuary for the entire service and kindly assists guests in finding a seat once the service has started. This role requires the use of verbal and non-verbal skills and teamwork with the Connections Lobby Greeter.

Open Spots:

  • Monthly (9:00 a.m. service): 1 usher, 1 door greeter, 4 parking attendants
  • Monthly (10:45 a.m. service): 2 coffee bar attendants, 2 ushers, 5 parking attendants
