Rhythms: Your Story

Sunday, February 2

Who were you before Christ? For some, those thoughts might bring some guilt or shame. For others, it might be a simple "I was lost" sentiment. For others reading this, you might not have come to faith in Jesus. We were all someone before we came to faith in Jesus and if Jesus lives within us, then we have an interesting story of transformation to tell.

I know for many believers, when it comes to their faith in Christ, it can be hard to know what to share, how much to share, feeling confident in what you're sharing and maybe wondering if your sharing made a difference.

As we think about the opportunities God gives each of us to share our story, we need to first be clear about the "why" of sharing. What would I want people to take away from this conversation? If we can clarify the "why," I believe there's four parts to weave in when we share our story:

  1. Who was I before I met Jesus?
  2. Who am I now that I know Jesus?
  3. How did I come to know Jesus?
  4. What is God teaching / showing me now?

It can be easy to shy away from the story God has written/is writing in our lives, but in reality, sharing our story can actually bring us closer to Christ.

You have a story to tell and there are people in your life who need to hear that story. I hope you'll join me this Sunday at 9:00 or 10:45 am as we continue our series on Rhythms with a focus on sharing your story.

January Ministry Spotlight: iChoose Pregnancy Support Services

iChoose Pregnancy Support Services is a Christ-centered ministry committed to upholding the sanctity of human life by demonstrating the love of Christ to women and men facing unplanned pregnancies and those hurt by past abortions. We will accomplish this by providing spiritual, physical, and emotional support and by proclaiming the Gospel.

iChoose has two office locations, Knightdale and Clayton. Their services are provided at no charge, so they rely on the generosity of volunteers and financial donors. They are always looking for volunteers to do anything from joining the prayer team, to transporting cribs. They have a baby boutique of donated baby items to give to moms and dads.
