How Do We Live As Faithful Subjects?

Sunday, November 24

As Americans, we don't have a natural connection to a king as our ruler. In fact, that's why many of the forefathers of this nation left Europe: to escape the absolute rule of a king. Yet, as believers, we acknowledge Jesus as our King. We sing songs about Him reigning on high and ruling in our hearts. Looking around our world and even within our own lives, sometimes we have a limited view and understanding of what it means for Jesus to be King.

This Sunday is Christ the King Sunday! What a declaration for us to celebrate that Jesus is King! Yet Jesus' kingdom is not the same as the earthly kingdoms we've witnessed on earth. How is Jesus' rule different? How are we supposed to submit to His authority? His kingdom is here, but not yet in all of its fullness. What do we do as we wait for Jesus to be king and to fully reign?

This weekend, we're examining Matthew 25 for Jesus' instructions about His kingdom and how we are to follow after Him. I hope to see you this Sunday at 9:00 or 10:45 am!

November Ministry Spotlight

Did you know that there are 156 million unchurched people in the U.S. alone and 47% of those are open to being invited to attend. At Northside, we believe church planting is an act of obedience to the Great Commission in Matthew 28. The need is urgent because Jesus is coming back and the number of churches in America right now is declining at the same time that our population is increasing.

The Advent Christian General Conference, in partnership with our churches, is committed to church planting. Northside recently planted our first church - Redemption Community Church in Clayton. Please be in prayer for Redemption Community Church, Pastor Daniel Karl and the congregation as they reach out to the Clayton community.
