Safe Families for Children seeks to help families in crisis before children enter into a situation of neglect or abuse. They strive to partner with families in a preventative manner to avoid children entering into the foster care system. Safe Families for Children wants to expand their presence into Eastern Wake County. Here's how we can help: Their most pressing need is host families (adults 25+) who could host a child, most likely 0-7 years old, for 4-6 weeks. If you would like to learn more or explore this possibility, please contact Dee Belvin at .
The Raleigh Dream Center (RDC) is opening two new homes for their men's recovery program. These homes need to be furnished. Specific needs are: mattresses, dressers, dining table, sofa as well as many miscellaneous house items. Northside partners with RDC to provide housing through the Northside Compassion Project as well as our Adopt A Block ministry in the Shady Acres subdivision. We can help create a warm welcoming and healing environment to all those who will come through RDC's recovery program. Have items you can donate? Contact Todd with the Raleigh Dream Center to arrange pick up/delivery.
